MX Lookup

An MX record tells the internet which servers receive email for a domain, in priority order. This lookup lists all MX hosts and their priorities, the lowest number is tried first. No MX record means the domain cannot receive mail.

MX Lookup, FAQ

What is an MX record?
MX (Mail eXchange) records are DNS entries that name the servers responsible for accepting email for a domain, each with a priority value.
What does MX priority mean?
Lower numbers are preferred. Senders try the lowest-priority MX first and fall back to higher numbers if it is unavailable.
What happens if a domain has no MX record?
It cannot receive email. Some senders fall back to the A record, but a proper mail domain should always publish MX records.
